Well, I'm in Leeds now with school and I can not wait until I can go home again... just 5 more weeks..
The people are friendly, the food is great and the weather is nothing at all like the typical English weather I have heard so much about.. but I'm still terribly home sick. We are 23 students living in a dorm house and it is the worst house in the world. Prisons are cleaner and nicer looking. There is mold in the showers and in every air vents (seriously they are green), and there are big stains in the ceiling from water damage. Not very pleasant.
But still, only 5 more weeks to go. I'm counting down the days, the hours, the minutes.
And it was quite a culture shock coming here because the pub is open during the day, and people actually party in the middle of the week.. you can go and have a beer between classes. I'm only used to drinking at friday and saturday nights when the clubs and pubs are open i Sweden. And they are still allowed to smoke i bars!! Disgusting!! (but at least everything smells of smoke and not sweat when you get home)
But classes here are great, the teachers are amazing and I have learned some real valuable stuff!
Tomorrow we are going to visit secondary schools, my group is going to Hanson (yeah, I know.. MmmmBop..haha)It's going to be fun but I'm dead nervous.. It's almost like being a zoo animal when you are a foreigner here sometimes, everyone stares like crazy. ^_^
And now I have to go to bed.. which sucks..

I am a real music nerd, really I am.. especially with music videos! A video can enhance a song ten times or more or make you want to hurl every time it comes on. (Paris Hilton, I'm looking at you girl!)

I haven't been working for the past couple of days and since most of my free time is spent in front of the TV; I got to see a lot of really good videos (however the crap fest was way more common).

When a video has a story and can't deliver at the end; that is such a great concept for crap. Luckily BfmV did an excellent job with this one. The story is simple: PunkGirl and CoolGuy have some fun in the sack, CoolGuy dumps PunkGirl for SlutGirl and PunkGirl takes her revenge. Very simple and very entertaining. It's far better than I described it. ^_^
The end scene is a favorite, when PunkGirl blows CoolGuy a kiss after nearly scaring him to death and then laughs. It makes up for some weak moments in the middle.

Let me just say that this is one of my favorite bands from Sweden, their songs blow me away. And this is no exception.
It has no plot really; just the band playing in a white room and sometimes driving around in an invisible car. (not kidding)
It's nothing special but somehow the aesthetics, along with the song itself, gives me such a good feeling inside. Not to mention (one of) the singer(s) Björn Dixgård who is cute as a button! He is cute in a Patrick-Stumph-kind-of-way. ^____^

One of the best videos in 2006, this is to me a stroke of genius. Again, simple plot but beautiful aesthetics. The band is playing in a wind tunnel-room being their amazing selves. We also get to see clips of horrific things such as a building being blown up and lion attacking a gazelle. But these clips is later on transformed into beutiful things in life; the explotion becomes waves on the ocean, the attack of the gazelle becomes a girl doing flips on a lawn, etc. It is beautifully shot and the colors are amazing! Ten thumbs up for Mr. Lazzara (that boy can sure swing a mic!). ^_^

Ever been to a festival before that you just love?
I have.
It's called Trästock and is located in a city called Skellefteå, in the north of Sweden. (the city that From First To Last was when they shot the video to "the Latest Plague")
The funny thing is that Trästock is Woodstock in English. *haha* I have been to Woodstock!!

It has all the elements a really cozy festival needs; good music, good variety of food, people dressing weird (scene kids) and of course wannabe rockers. ^_^ *so much love*
I went with (read: forcefully dragged) a friend that normally doesn't like to visit festivals, but she liked this one. Mainly because you could sit down on the ground to watch the artists. So lazy. *haha*

Well, we got there a bit later than I had expected because we missed most of the set from the group I had wanted to see; Randy. The little we saw was fab! They had on these pajamas with skeletons on them, made me want to cuddle!
And me being terribly stupid I forgot to take a picture of them.. *hits head on desk*
Randy is a great live band, full of energy and rock. Go see!

Next was a couple of pop/rock bands not half bad. ^_^
We saw Dub Sweden, playing soft melodic pop-songs and looking cute as buttons.

And the Slaves, who's singer bounced around on stage like he was on fire. Totally cute!


The best band of the night was Montt Mardié (strange name I know) playing poppy/melodic songs with hints of rock. I really recommend them to everyone, well worth the time to listen to. Especially the cover/their own version of "Come on Eileen"; amazing. The singer who's name I think was Daniel, had such a great personality that shone out over the crowd, and delivered 'in-between-song' talks with warmth and humor. Look them up!




The best thing about this festival is that it's drug/alcohol free (no need to worry about 14-year-old kids puking on your shoes) and it's free of charge. You don't have to spend a penny if you don't want to. ^_^

Festivals are the best; I wish I could visit them all...
Next year I'm going to Hultsfred and All That Rocks in Germany! I want to see bands that are somewhat famous now ^_^

Wow, the day has come... my first journal entry at LiveJournal. *mushy feeling in my chest*
Right now I should be fast asleep in my bed since I'm working tomorrow, but that fact has not stopped me yet! But I AM dead tired though...
Work has been killing me lately, both mentally and physically. You can tell from my bruised legs and arms, and my tired eyes. They are tired of crying. I can not wait for school to start again. (Never thought I would say that, haha)

But on the bright side; I just bought three new CD's and I love them to bits. It's Taking Back Sunday "Louder Now", Panic! At the Disco "A fever you can't sweat out" and My Chemical Romance's first album "I brought you my bullets, you brought me your love".
My mother was very much against me buying these, since I don't have any money to spend really, but I think I might have changed her mind. I have converted her into a TBS fan. ^_^ (or she might just fake it to stop me from going on and on about their lyrics, sound and good looking lead singer)
They truly made an amazing album; the beats, the riffs, the chorus... I am in love with it all. Adam Lazzara has a voice that few lead singers today can reach; he successfully did the transformation from emo to rock. Just listen to songs like "Spin" and "My blue heaven"...yum.

I have to admit that I judged Panic! before even listening to them; I thought they would be a washed-out copy of Fall Out Boy... but boy was I wrong. Their lyrics may be simple at times, and maybe a bit cliché, bur all in all there is no denying that they have talent.
And am I the only one who thinks that the drummer Spencer Smith looks a bit like old-school Gerard Way? Minus the rad-looking leather jacket and sweaty hair. *super sweeeet*

Just as black is the new baby pink; RPS slash is the new slash. There is not enough RPS slash fics in this world!!
I'm currently obsessing over the following pairs:

But someday... I will meet Mr. Right. And he will play in a band, love me for who I am, have some brains, know how to cook, and not be afraid to put on some eyeliner to sex things up. *smirk*

And that is my dream.
